This story is about 88-year-old Ben Constantino, a Buffalo, N.Y., resident who has played racquetball for more than 40 years, and shows no signs of slowing down.
The Get Old effort will help Pfizer achieve Imperative 3: Earn Greater Respect From Society. The goal is to inspire and activate people of all ages to reconsider what it means to get old and to change perceptions about aging at every stage of life.
Ben Constantino became a physical education teacher and school administrator following his service as a U.S. Army paratrooper during World War II. He has been passionate about sports throughout his life and the passion continues today.
“Physically I feel great,” Constantino said. “Even though I had a knee replacement a few years ago I can still get to almost every ball, even on drop shots, and feel I can move as well as I did 20 years ago. Realistically, I am always busy, playing racquetball, working out in the gym, attending basketball games or other functions.”
