Focus On... New Year’s Resolutions

3.. 2.. 1.. Happy New Year! January is the month of new beginnings and resolutions. Resolutions are important because they remind us of the goals we want to accomplish and gives us something to work towards.

Some ways to stick to your resolutions this year are to:

  1. Make small changes. Slowly changing your habits are proven to be more effective than trying to change overall behaviors.
  2. Write your goals down where you can see them daily. Physically writing goals down helps keep them at the top of your mind. Being able to physically see your goals will help keep you accountable. Instead of writing them in a notebook that you’ll never open again. Try writing your resolutions on a whiteboard.
  3. Track your progress. How else will you know how far you’ve come? Tracking your progress is a great way to see how close you are to your end goal. You will also become more motivated to continue if you can see the progress your making along the way.
