This Get Old story is a round-up of nine record holders who are the oldest people to have achieved extraordinary athletic or artistic milestones, from winning an Oscar award to scaling Mount Everest.
The Get Old effort will help Pfizer achieve Imperative 3: Earn Greater Respect From Society. The goal is to inspire and activate people of all ages to reconsider what it means to get old and to change perceptions about aging at every stage of life.
This week’s story is about nine remarkable individuals who haven’t let age stop them from achieving their goals … whether that dream was sailing around the world, winning a Grammy award, or swimming the English Channel.
Among them is 102-year old Fauja Singh, who became the oldest man to complete a marathon when he finished the Toronto marathon in 2011.
