Former undefeated super middleweight boxing champion of the world and health advocate Laila Ali is the official spokesperson for Claim Your Age Day.
Claim Your Age Day is a global event on June 5 in which Pfizer will invite people around the world to embrace their age and change their perceptions about aging at every stage of life.
Ali is encouraging people to “claim their age” as part of Pfizer’s Get Old effort to support Imperative 3 – earn greater respect from society – by leading a candid conversation about aging and living better. Ali and Pfizer are challenging people of all ages to rethink what it means to get old to discover a better quality of life today and at every age. As part of Claim Your Age Day, Ali will join Pfizer in New York’s Times Square to encourage people to proudly proclaim their age on a digital billboard, and film their stories of living boldly at every age to be featured on a relaunched www.GetOld.com.
As a spokesperson for Get Old, Ali will discuss her own journey with age and her latest ventures on the horizon. A wife and mother — as well as daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, for whom she acts as a caregiver — Ali will share tips on how she maintains a healthy lifestyle. She is proud of her accomplishments and welcomes the journey from her 30s and 40s, demonstrating that getting old is something to look forward to and be excited about.
“It’s no surprise that Americans are living longer and aspire to live better than ever before,” said Sally Susman, Executive Vice President, Policy, External Affairs and Communications. “But living longer creates its own set of challenges that many of us still aren’t dealing with. Many of the chronic conditions plaguing Americans can be prevented by committing to take charge of our health and live better — just as Laila is doing.”
