As the concerns and fears of the COVID-19 virus impact our daily lives, Pfizer has reviewed its U.S. medical plans to make it easier and less costly for retirees to receive the medical care, including testing for COVID-19, they may need.
Effective immediately, Pfizer is providing temporary enhancements of certain benefits for retirees who have coverage under Pfizer’s U.S. retiree medical plan. These enhanced benefits provide “no cost” COVID-19 testing and expand access to medications. We are continuing to monitor this rapidly changing situation and are committed to providing updates as quickly as possible.
Pfizer’s retiree medical plan has been temporarily enhanced to provide retirees and their families covered under its health plans (“Members”) access to additional support. The enhancements will be in place until further notice and include the following:

CVS Caremark is encouraging Members to switch their 30-day maintenance medications to a 90-day supply using CVS Caremark Mail-order (with free delivery) or a CVS pharmacy through the Maintenance Choice Program. Refill restrictions will be relaxed allowing Members to fill their 30-day supply of maintenance medications earlier than is typically allowed. CVS pharmacies are waiving charges for 1 to 2-day home delivery for most prescription medications delivered. (note, home delivery is not the same as mail-order. With home delivery, a nearby CVS pharmacy will deliver your medications to you. Typically, there is a cost for this service.) |

Temporary suspension of the regular $15 copay. Until further notice, the $15 copay will be waived for all eVisits. As a reminder, schedule an eVisit if you are not feeling well to minimize direct contact with others. While the virus cannot be diagnosed through an eVisit, if you think you have been exposed, Teladoc providers can guide you on the next best step in accordance with CDC reporting requirements. |
