To mark the start of 2015, the Get Old team takes a look at the annual tradition of setting New Year's resolutions... and the fear of not sticking to them.
"Fight the FOGO" highlights stories from GetOld.com that demonstrate how people at all stages of life are facing their Fear of Getting Old (FOGO).
In a post titled "5 Tricks to Make New Year's Resolutions Stick," health and nutrition expert Tina Marinaccio helps readers develop a plan to commit to change through goal setting.
"If weight loss is your objective, and you would like to lose 100 pounds, don't set a goal to lose it in a month. The weight probably did not come on in a month, and likely will not come off in a month," Marinaccio advises in tip No. 1: be realistic. "Focus on behavior change. Let the consequence of your behaviors lead to weight loss, and choose behavioral changes that feel achievable."
